Title: Paid to permanent incentive.
Short description of the idea: For everytime a user pays for (example) yearly paid account subscriptions, it works toward them getting a permanent.
Full description of the idea (optional): The basic idea is that people who don't wait to pay for a permanent account right away, they can earn it through continuous contribution through the paid accounts system. For every year-subscription of paid time a user purchases and uses on lostjournal, the more eligible they can be for being capable of upgrading to a permanent account. It's sort of like putting time and effort into a project you really love and getting a prize as a reward for the money spent.
A list of benefits: • It gives the user more of an incentive to pay for extra services. • Makes the user maintain an active existance on lostjournal and participate in the community. • Gives the user a sense of satisfaction that they helped both the community and themselves for giving money to lostjournal to maintain the system.
A list of possible problems involved: • Possible abuse of the system, paying for future time at one single moment (though I don't know who would want to do this all at once. XD) • Permanent account upgrades would have to be done as needed for however long the administration chooses to set the cap on contribution,
Clarification: Basically it acts as an incentive program to help those who really want a permanent account but can only afford to save up for a year's subscription at any given time.

Suggestion: The ability for paid users to purchase even more extra userpics. Maybe even a limit for early adopters to purchase? Say you have six packages of extra userpics at assorted prices and maybe limiting early adopters to the two lowest and the rest for paid accounts? May I even suggest an option to buy permament extra user icon spaces too?
Examples: Livejournal has a feature similiar to this. Their FAQ page.
If there's one thing everyone is sure to love, it's extra userpics.
